Conflict of Emotions Chapter 1

Chapter 1: The Core

'I don't want to disappear, I don't want to disappear,' I thought to myself as I stabbed the Key of Lorelei into the ground, 'I want to come home to Guy, Natalia, Anise, Jade, Mieu, and Tear...'

"Luke....I love you," Tear's quiet voice rang in my ears, as a barrier formed around me.  Eldrant broke apart around me as I fell through with the bubble like barrier and the sword stuck in the fonic gliph  below me.  

"Tear...." I whispered to myself, hoping they all made it out alright as I went through the replica city.  My green eyes looked upwards seeing a familiar body falling toward me, I held out my arms catching Asch's pale lifeless corpse.  To see him, my original, dead in my arms with the three stab wounds through him made me feel weak like it did when he actually died.  His blood red hair hanged over the side of my arm as I looked forward, a glowing orange flame like figure forming in front of us.

"So the world did not vanish," the figure's booming god like voice met my ears, reassuring me this is the one I had grown so used to, Lorelei, "To think the future I saw would be rewritten.  You have done admirably."

The figure swirled around me and into the opening above glowing bright white going into the fon belt, free at last.

I watched it disappear into the clouds as I went into the core, a rainbow of colors swirling around me and I knew what I must do.

I closed my eyes, leaning my head back ever so slightly a single thought on my mind, 'Tear, I will keep my promise but I have a duty here first.  I will come home as soon as I can so I can tell you I love you too.'

Asch's corpse and my own body began to glow, a warmth flowing through me as our fonon's separated merging with the core like Lorelei's had been for so long.

'Tear...' I thought one last time as my mind went dim but for the first time as I lost complete consciousness I felt complete.

Over the next two years, I could feel someone calling to me every once in awhile making Asch's and mine fonon's form together into a solid body once more.

The voice calling to me was beautiful and sweet, yet so familiar but I couldn't recognize it fully as her song breached the core to me.

Day after day, it seemed more and more of her song reached me waking me from my slumber just a bit.

Tue rei ze croa riou tue ze

The first verse woke our sleeping fonons causing them to start to merge back together in the center of the core.

Croa riou ze tue riou rei neu riou ze

The second verse created a protective shield around our fonons as the our body began to form around our sleeping souls.

Va rei ze tue, neu tue riou tue croa

The third verse healed the wounds of the core calming it with our excess fonons that were the same as Lorelei's.

Riou rei croa riou ze rei va ze rei

The forth verse awoke our spirits merging them together, with mine as the stronger one since his was faded from dying once already.

Va neu va rei va neu va ze rei

The fifth verse finished Asch and my new body the fire red hair floating behind it as it was suspended in the core and the shield disappeared.

Croa riou croa neu tue rai croa riou ze rei va

The sixth verse merged the soul and body together, my eyes opening as I heard his voice in the back of  my mind, 'That took long enough, Dreck.  Don't you have a promise to keep.'

Rei va neu croa tue rei rei

The final verse returned all our memories back, emotions that belonged to Asch filling me along with my own as I remembered the promise to Tear and everyone.

My body began to glow, upon hearing the whole hymn song together.  I finally realized this was Tear's voice calling me back with the Grand Fonic Hymn as I closed my eyes disappearing from the core.

I opened my eyes, feeling the wet grass around me and staring up at the bright moon above me.  I sat up, holding my head my bright green eyes falling upon the ruins of Hod or Eldrant, where my final battle had taken place, where I had appeared close to.  How long was I gone and where was I?

I looked the other way, seeing the beautiful white selenias blooming in the moonlight.  I smiled at that standing up, knowing exactly where I was now, hearing her voice upon the wind, "Rei va neu croa tue rei rei."

It was time to keep my promise to her as I headed toward where Tear and the others voices were coming from, a smile on my face.
